Iron Lung

I want to preface this blurb with I don't remember Mark's original playthrough of the game. I have actively not watched anyone else play this game since the news of the movie coming out either. But I know the basic premise and I remember the way that it kind of puts things together. The story of the game is told only inside of the Iron Lung. And so is the movie. That is the most important part of this to me. I believe that this was the only way that you could do this story any justice is to listen to the way that the original game was done. Besides one or two shots, they utilize the space of the ship so well to show what Simon is going through in the story. The story is well done and while the pacing is the biggest thing I have an issue with (as do some other people), I actually appreciate the calmness of the pace at the beginning. We get into the rhythm of it. Simon wanders, he takes pictures, he is okay. And it is only in the last half where the stakes raise at massive cliffs that we get to see the stakes we knew before be actualized. Mark did justice to a game that was a limited story-telling perspective. He did justice for a story that any other major group would have over engineered and overdone. I will be thinking about this for weeks.
